Silk sponges are the softest and densest sponges one can buy and are the most luxurious sponges for facial care. They are small and are primarily used for the application, removal of make-up and facial cleansing.

Unlike Mediterranean and Pacific Silk Sponges, these sponges have a slightly rough texture to them, making them a great sponge for lightly exfoliating facial cleansing.

How to use: Add water and the sponge will enlarge and soften. Apply cleanser directly to the sponge, work in gentle circles on the face and neck. After using, rinse out the sponge completely with cold water, squeezing all excess water out (do not wring or twist as that can damage and break the fibers), and allow to air dry naturally. 

Silk sponge care: After each use, allow sponge to dry completely. Every few weeks, cleanse and disinfect by soaking in one of these solutions for two hours: 10% white vinegar with water, or 5% hydrogen peroxide with water for two hours. then rinse completely and air dry. Do not twist or pull the sponge, as this may damage the fibers and tear it.  With proper care, silk sponges can last for months.
